 Our GRIB weather data service provides mariners with high-quality current weather predictions based on trusted and proven models from NOAA data. This service, built into PolarView NS, provides instant access to weather data for any selected area. Clear and easy to read GRIB display of PolarView NS enables a user to plan sailing routes based on forecast.

Currently available weather data models include:

GFS (Global Forecast System)

  • World-wide surface wind, pressure, air temperature and precipitation rate
  • Available in 1 degree and higher-density 0.5 degree grids
  • Up to 8 days of forecast available in 6 or 3 hour increments
  • Updated 4 times daily to match model data release schedule by NCEP
NWW3 (WAVEWATCH III)
  • World-wide ocean wave height and direction and surface wind.
  • Up to 7.5 days of forecast available in 6 or 3 hour increments
  • Updated 4 times daily to match model data release schedule by NCEP
RTOFS Real-Time Ocean Forecast System (Atlantic)
  • Speed and direction of Atlantic ocean currents and water temperature
  • More than 4 days of forecast available in 6 or 3 hour increments
  • Updated daily
